We are temporarily relocating to the Truman Memorial Building at 416 W. Maple Ave., Independence, MO 64050 and reopening in the Fall of 2023

About Us

The National Frontier Trails Museum is a history museum, interpretive center, and research library dedicated to telling the rich history of America’s principle, pioneering trails, including the Oregon, Santa Fe and California trails. We're located in Independence, Missouri, a key starting point for hundreds of thousands of pioneers who risked their livelihoods for a new life in the American West.

The museum is located west of the Historic Independence Square, 3.8 miles north of I-70.
