Incentives

The City of Independence believes the appropriate use of economic development incentives is to broaden and diversify our community through increasing the tax base, creating and retaining family sustaining jobs and reinvesting in targeted areas of the City. We realize the use of incentives is also very important to a businesses decision to relocate or expand their business. For this reason we work very closely with the Missouri Department of Economic Development and the incentive programs they have developed.
