6th Annual Independence Park Trot
Registration open for the Independence Park Trot! Park Trot will take place at Waterfall Park on Saturday, May 6th. This is a free 5K open to all ages and fitness levels!! Register today at registration closes at midnight on Sunday, April 23. This is the deadline to be chip-timed. You can still register in person at packet pick-up on May 5 or May 6 but you will not be chip-timed.See flyer at

Robert E. Tindall Scholarship Art Show & Sale
Robert E. Tindall, a native of Independence, was a widely respected artist that studied under Thomas Hart Benton. A few of Mr. Tindall's paintings will be on exhibit, as well as the works of other Independence Art Association members. Artwork will be on display during regular park hours, March 3-26. Free with regular museum admission Saturdays in January-March 1-3pm Using a special brochure as your guide, discover how African Americans contributed in settling the western reaches of our continent. Upon completion of your adventure a Museum Guide will check your work and award a prize for your effort!
