Experiential History Program
Have you ever wished you could step back in time and speak with a person from the past? Every Saturday, May through September, you can do just that in historic Independence, Missouri. First person interpreters portray characters from various time periods to bring history to life for residents and visitors alike. Interpreters will be on-site at the historic Independence Square, the 1827 Log Courthouse, the National Frontier Trails Museum, the Chicago and Alton Depot, and the Vaile Mansion. This weekend, make Independence your destination for fun and learning! Time: 10:00 am - 4:00 pm Free

Open Music Jam - 12:30 P.M 1st, 3rd, and 5th Wednesdays

Tai Chi for Arthritis 10:45 a.m.
Tai Chi for Arthritis for Fall Prevention is an evidenced based program designed by Dr. Paul Lam, in conjunction with a team of medical experts and Tai Chi masters. Using the Sun style of Tai Chi, the program is easy to learn, safe, and effective. Instructor: Dorri Li and Michelle Pena ~ $3.00

Aging Mastery Program Graduation 12:30 p.m.
Help the graduates of our first Aging Mastery Program (AMP) celebrate during a brief ceremony followed by a reception. AMP is a 10 week course developed by the National Council on Aging that offers a comprehensive and fun approach to living that celebrates the gift of longevity. Watch for more information about the next class beginning in July.
