Dragonfly Daze
10 am - 1 pm Dragonflies close-up are cool and so is catching them. Make a dragonfly craft and learn how to identify the dragonflies you catch! Nets, insect containers, and craft materials will be supplied. Please bring a hat, sunscreen, refillable water bottle and insect repellent. Call 816.325.7115 for more details.

Experiential History Program
Have you ever wished you could step back in time and speak with a person from the past? Every Saturday, May through September, you can do just that in historic Independence, Missouri. First person interpreters portray characters from various time periods to bring history to life for residents and visitors alike. Interpreters will be on-site at the historic Independence Square, the 1827 Log Courthouse, the National Frontier Trails Museum, the Chicago and Alton Depot, and the Vaile Mansion. This weekend, make Independence your destination for fun and learning! Time: 10:00 am - 4:00 pm Free

Palmer Center is River Walking at Adventure Oasis - Mondays in July $5
Meet at the Palmer Center at 9:00 AM and ride the Fairmount Community Center bus to Adventure Oasis for River Walking. Walk a section of the Lazy River first with the current, then against the current in this low-impact program. Water shoes are recommended. Please bring exact change to pay directly that day. ($1 to bus driver, $4 to Adventure Oasis) Call Palmer Center at 816-325-6200 to reserve your spot on the bus by the Wednesday before.
