Truman Trot 5K

The City of Independence Parks, Recreation and Tourism Dept. is excited to present the annual Truman Trot 5K on May 1, 2022.
After cancelling the event in 2020 and going virtual in 2021, the Truman Trot (formerly Park Trot) returns to Waterfall Park in person in 2022.
In keeping with past years, the Truman Trot is presented free of cost, courtesy of the City of Independence and our community sponsors, HCA Midwest Health Centerpoint Medical Center, Bass Pro Shops and Cigna.
The race begins at 8 a.m. on May 1, 2022, with a kids' dash scheduled to follow at 9 a.m.

TOOLKIT FOR ACTIVE LIVING Tuesdays April 5 through May 10 from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. - MUST HAVE REGISTERED

Free for adults 60+ Living with a chronic condition such as diabetes, arthritis, heart disease, pain, or anxiety can be a challenge, but it doesn’t have to be. This 6-week workshop will be held via conference call using your telephone and will help you discover how to make healthy food choices; increase physical activity and exercise safely; cope with pain and fatigue; communicate effectively with your health team; and develop an action plan to improve your health and wellbeing. Class size is limited!
