Police Attempt to Identify Armed Robbery Suspect

Detectives with the Independence Police Department are attempting to identify and locate a suspect responsible for at least four recent armed robberies of businesses along US 24 highway in Independence since January 3, 2018. In all of these cases, the suspect has pointed a pistol at store employees and robbed them of cash.

The robberies occurred on the following dates, at the following locations:
Report # 18-162: Mon, 1/1/2018, 7:30 pm, Subway, 911 N. Noland Rd
Report # 18-650: Wed, 1/3/2018, 9:34 pm, at Family Dollar, 11213 E. US 24 Hwy
Report # 18-1584: Sun, 1/7/2018, 8:24 pm, at Dollar General, 421 E. US 24 Hwy
Report # 18-2775: Fri, 1/12/2018, 8:59 pm, at Dollar General, 421 E. US 24 Hwy

The suspect is described as an unknown race male, with a medium skin complexion, in his 20’s, about 5’6” to 5’8” tall, weighing about 150 to 175 pounds. He has worn a dark hoodie with white lining, blue jeans, tan & black boots, and a black or red bandana. He has used a black handgun.
