IPD Detective Seeks help in Cold Case Homicide

For immediate release: October 19, 2017

This week marks the 12th anniversary of the cold case homicide of Lakota R. Renville, whose body was found in Independence on October 16, 2005. The 22 year old Native American female was found wrapped in a blanket in a gravel lot, in the 9200 block of Pitcher Road, which borders Kansas City, Missouri.

A witness had reported seeing a brown, early 1990s model Ford Explorer with Missouri license plates in the area where the body was found.

IPD Detectives still seek the person responsible for her death. Her family still wants justice.
