Abduction Investigation

At 4:27 pm this evening, Independence Police were dispatched to the 2100 block of S. Hawthorne Avenue on a missing 12 year old female.

When police officers contacted the parents, they were told that the juvenile did not come home from school on time. After an extensive search, the juvenile was located and told police she had been abducted. The juvenile said that at approximately 3:30 pm, she was abducted from the area of 23rd Street and Hawthorne Avenue by a tall, thin, white male with short black hair, driving a white colored four-door vehicle. She said that she was driven to Blue Ridge Boulevard and Hardy Avenue and pushed out of the vehicle, where she was able to use someone's phone and call her parents.
