IPD Officers Awarded at Valor Awards Event

On Friday, November 20th, the Metropolitan Chiefs and Sheriffs Association held the 44th annual Valor Awards at the Argosy Casino in Riverside, MO. 83 valor awards were presented to police officers from throughout the Kansas City Metropolitan area. Among those honored were the following officers from the Independence Missouri Police Department:

Life-Saving Award: Recognizes a person who has performed an act that is considered meritorious in saving or sustaining a human life.

Bronze Award: Recognizes a person who has performed an exceptional act of duty that brings credit to that person and his/her agency.

Silver Award: Recognizes a person who has performed a dangerous and distinguished act that conspicuously exceeds the performance that is normally expected.

Gold Award: Recognizes a person who has performed an exceptionally valorous act far above that which is normally expected, with great personal danger being present.
