Missing Endangered Person

The Independence Police Department is asking for community assistance in locating 49 year old, James L. Kinder.  He has been missing since 4-20-15 at approximately 11:00 AM and was believed to be home in the 4900 block of S. Milton Court when his family last had contact with him.

Mr. Kinder is missing endangered because his family states that he cannot take care of himself because he has the mental capacity of an eight year old and suffers from schizophrenia. He also has not taken his needed medication since his disappearance. He has been known to walk away from home but usually returns after a few days. He has hitchhiked in the past.

Mr. Kinder has a fascination with Ford Mustangs and has been located at Blue Springs Ford in the past. He does not have a car or cell phone and will likely be on foot. He is likely wearing camouflage boots and either a green or brown Carhartt jacket. He likes to wear shirts with cars on them or NASCAR logos

If anyone has any information regarding Mr. Kinder, please contact the Independence Police Department at (816) 836-3600, or call 911.
