Semi-skilled work involving the operation of backhoes, high loaders, agriculture tractors, mowing equipment, dump trucks, small turf mowers and other miscellaneous special equipment within the Park Maintenance Division. Performs pre-trip inspection and basic maintenance to equipment. Assists in seasonal snow removal and performs related duties.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent with six (6) months experience in the operation of light equipment or six (6) months as a Construction or Maintenance Aide. Knowledge of the safe and proper operation of light equipment; basic construction skills; operation of light equipment and equipment related to park maintenance. Must possess or obtain a valid Class "B" Commercial Driver's License. Physical Demands: Ability to bend and lift 75 lbs. plus or minus 25 lbs. Climbing in and out of confined spaces, equipment, etc. Typical Working Conditions: Outdoor conditions of extreme heat and cold and adverse weather. Exposure to grass, weeds, pollen, etc. May be called in after hours for snow removal.
