Older Americans’ Month Celebration, Monday, May 2 at 12:30 p.m.

May is Older American’s Month and this year’s theme is “Age My Way”. Come kick the month off with a celebration including cake, Habitat Bingo, and prizes.


Laughter Yoga, Wednesdays, May 4 & June 11 at 11:00 a.m. Free

This unique exercise routine combines unconditional laughter with yogic breathing. Anyone can laugh without relying on humor and science shows the body does not differentiate between simulated and real laughter. Once the laughter is initiated as a group, real and contagious laughter usually follows leaving one feeling joyful and relaxed and promoting better health and well-being. Certified Instructor: Pam Burnham from Sugar Creek Parks and Recreation.


Are you ready? Emergency Preparedness SeriesTuesday, May 3, May 17, and May 31 at 12:15 p.m. Join us at The Palmer Center for this new FREE series every other Tuesday at 12:15 p.m. beginning May 3rd. May 3rd topic is Getting to Safety; May 17th is Disaster Plan and Dress Rehearsal, and May 31st is Home Safe Home.  


Cinco De Mayo Celebration, Thursday, May 5 at 12:15 p.m.

Celebrate Cinco De Mayo with a special snack and fun activities. Co-Sponsored by Dedicated Senior Health Care


Veteran’s Cafe – Thursday, May 12 at 10:30 a.m. 

Join other veterans and family members for coffee, pastries, conversation, and learning about veteran benefits.  Co-sponsored by Good Shepherd Hospice.


Consumer Protection Tuesday, May 24 at 10:15 a.m.

A speaker from the Missouri Attorney General’s Office will share important information about fraud and scams.


Furry Friends Visit, Friday, May 27 at 12:15 p.m.

A representative from KC Pet Project will bring some kittens for a furry friends visit. Registration Required. Call 816-325-6200 to register.
