Truman Heritage Habitat for Humanity Partners with Spire, City of Independence to Assist Eligible Independence Homeowners

Truman Heritage Habitat for Humanity, Spire, and the City of Independence are partnering to provide weatherization services for eligible Independence homeowners who are customers of both Spire and City of Independence Utilities. This FREE program helps customers save money on utility bills while preserving natural resources and protecting the environment.

Truman Heritage Habitat for Humanity is offering income-eligible Independence homeowners weatherization assistance such as caulking, weather-stripping, attic insulation, water heater replacement, and air conditioner and furnace repair or replacement. This program is possible through grants from local natural gas provider Spire and the City of Independence.

In addition, the Independence Home Repair Program can assist income-eligible Independence homeowners with health and safety issues, roof or HVAC repair or replacement, dangerous tree removal, and building or repairing ramps. Funding for the Independence Home Repair Program is made possible by the Community Development Block Grant funds from the City of Independence.
