The Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department maintains nearly 800 park acres, comprised of 48 parks and sites and 43 athletic fields. Whether you’re looking for a place to exercise, a place to play or a place to gather with friends and family, our robust network of parks, trails and natural spaces are sure to meet your needs.

Park Rules

The Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department asks patrons to observe its rules and regulations to allow everyone a safe and enjoyable experience.

Please note: The rules here are summarized. You can find the full list of park rules and regulations in the City's Code of Ordinances.

  • City parks, shelter houses, playing fields and parking lots shall be open for use by the public from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Fires are only allowed in barbecue grills.
  • The erection of any structure (tents, awnings, volleyball posts/nets, etc.) is prohibited unless a special use permit is obtained.
  • Pets must be on a leash and under control.
  • Pet owners must pick up and properly dispose of any and all fecal matter left by their per.
  • Pets are prohibited in playgrounds, pool areas, and in community centers.
  • Solicitations are prohibited.
  • Glass containers are prohibited.
  • Bands, DJs, amusement type rides, games, booths, and activities are prohibited unless specifically approved.
  • Tobacco products are prohibited from all park areas with the exception of parking lots.
  • Alcohol is prohibited.
