The current opening is in the Finance & Administration Department.  This position manages, supervises, and coordinates services, activities, and operations of multiple functions within the area of budget, strategic planning, and performance management, including special projects within the City Manager’s Office and coordination of the Employee Engagement programs.  Sets goals, implements, and enforces policies and procedures, provides program planning and oversight, and develops and monitors and implements citywide budget procedures.  Ensures program compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing assigned programs.  Prepares and presents reports and studies to senior management, elected officials, and other organization levels as needed.  Conducts special assignments as required.



Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting, finance, business or public administration or a related field.  A Master’s degree in public administration or a related field preferred.  Two years increasingly responsible experience in public administration, business administration or a related field required.  Must possess a valid state driver’s license.  Must complete required NIMS level training within first six months of hire.



Knowledge of: Principle and practices of municipal budget preparation and administration; Management skills to analyze programs, policies, and operations; General knowledge of principles of city management; Pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes, and regulations.  Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; Analyze written materials and financial reports; Prepare clear and concise administrative and financial reports and research and identify critical data to report in support of goals.



Physical Demands: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push pull, or otherwise move objects.



Work Schedule: The Finance and Administration Department works a hybrid schedule with some days in the office.  This position will have meetings in-person as needed.
