$4,245 - $6,369 monthly salary range

Under general supervision, this position provides technical assistance in a variety of engineering work including, but not limited to, capital project design, plan review, field inspections, and maintenance improvement project design involving the Distribution and Production divisions of the Water Department.  This position will perform duties independently and also in a group setting to coordinate activities of contractors, departmental staff, and all City departments on major projects as well as other related duties as assigned.  Use of AutoCAD, GIS, asset management software (Cityworks) and GPS/survey equipment is vital.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a four-year accredited college or university in a related field such as Civil or Mechanical Engineering; any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.  Must have valid driver’s license.  Must have Missouri DNR Drinking Water Distribution System III (DS III) when eligible and/or Missouri DNR Drinking Water Operator’s Class “A” when eligible.  Must complete required NIMS level training within first six months of hire.  Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Knowledge of current principles and theories of civil engineering, mechanical engineering, or other engineering discipline related to the area of assignment, accounting and cost estimating, and applicable state, federal and local regulations.  Skill in using computers and applications related to the work including working knowledge of Microsoft programs, AutoCAD, GIS, GPS surveying equipment, asset management, SCADA.  Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with the ability to systematically conduct informational research, preparing clear and concise reports, correspondence and other written materials.
