Under general supervision of SCADA/EMS Supervisor, responsible for implementing and maintaining Power & Light information and cyber security policies.  Responsible for compliance with all NERC cyber security requirements as well as related regulatory security policies.  Provides expert guidance to staff pertaining to the enforcement of information/cyber security infrastructure policies.  Coordinates closely with City cyber security staff in efforts to implement network security measures, perform risk assessments, and develop mitigation plans as needed.  Install, configure, and maintain information security equipment including firewalls, intrusion protection systems, routers, switches and other miscellaneous security appliances at Power & Light.  Assist staff in maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Power & Light information systems and networks.  Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cyber security, information systems, or a related field.  At least 5 years’ experience in Information Technology and Network Administration; at least 4 years’ experience with Firewall Administration and Cyber security procedures and technologies; at least 3 years’ experience with advanced knowledge of IT Auditing. Valid driver’s license required.  Must complete required NIMS level training within first six months of hire.  Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:  Extensive knowledge in all aspects of information and cyber security, information assurance, and related activities.  Knowledge of network security vulnerabilities, including the ability to comprehend vulnerabilities and remediation activities; computer operating systems, windows administration, database administration TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol); Local Area Network/Wide Area Network, data communications and networking (OSI layers, encryptions, Virtual Private Network, Internet Key Exchange), recordkeeping, report preparation, filing methods, and records management techniques.  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional periodicals/journals, technical procedures and regulatory requirements, perform network systems security assessments and security product evaluations; write reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals; communicate clearly and effective with others, both verbally and in writing.  Skill in using tact, discretion, initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines; organizing work, setting priorities, meeting critical deadlines, and following through on assignments by using clear communication; applying logical thinking to solve problems or accomplish tasks; understand, interpret and communicate complicated procedures and protocols; trouble shooting computer network problems.  Physical Demands: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.  Typical Working Conditions:  Office environment, typically moderately quiet.  After work hours during nights, weekends, and holidays may be required during system outages or major upgrades. Occasional travel also required.
