The current opening is for an Accounting Administrator with a working title of Finance Budget Analyst within the Finance & Administration Department. This position manages, supervises and coordinates services, activities and operations of multiple functions within the area of budget, strategic planning and performance management, including special projects in conjunction with the City Manager’s Office. Sets goals, implements and enforces policies and procedures, provides program planning and oversight, and develops and monitors and implements citywide budget procedures. Ensures program compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations governing assigned programs. Prepares and presents reports and studies to senior management, elected officials, and other organization levels as needed. Conducts special assignments as required.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting, finance, business or public administration or a related field. Five years increasingly responsible experience in public administration, business administration or a related field required. Must possess a valid state driver’s license. Must complete required NIMS level training within first six months of hire. Knowledge of: Principle and practices of municipal budget preparation and accounting. Applicant should possess the skills to analyze programs, policies and operations; General knowledge of principles of city management; Pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes and regulations. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; Analyze written materials and financial reports; Prepare clear and concise administrative and financial reports and research and identify critical data to report in support of goals. Physical Demands: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push pull or otherwise move objects.
