Performs full performance level administrative support work for management in the City Manager’s Office. Performs a variety of staff functions including budget preparation, allocation of expenditures, personnel, and/or purchasing or contract monitoring, public information, department data processing coordination, and/or special project coordination. Gathers records, reports, correspondence or other specific types of information that may be required, analyzes data collected and prepares comprehensive reports. Performs related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a four-year college or university in business or public administration or a related field. Two to three years of progressively responsible related experience. Any combination of education, training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Must complete required NIMS level training within first six months of hire.
Knowledge of: Federal, state and local laws and ordinances related to the area of assignment; principles and practices of management and administration; computer usage and applications related to the work; record keeping, report preparation, filing methods, and records management techniques; accounting and finance.
Skill in: Communicating clearly and effectively with others, both orally and in writing; using tact, discretion, initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines; organizing work, setting priorities, meeting critical deadlines, and following up assignments with a minimum of direction; maintain records of financial transactions and activities.
Typical Working Conditions: Conditions are typically moderately quiet.
