Performs implementation, development, and maintenance of systems that are dependent upon spatial data in the Technology Services Department.  Functions as the system administrator for Cityworks and ArcGIS products.  Coordinates the utilization and future development of complex GIS applications throughout the City including Cityworks and ArcGIS products.  Designs and maintains interfaces between Cityworks and other systems.  Sets-up or modifies user interfaces as required.  Manages migration and upgrades of software for Cityworks,ArcGIS and other software.  Serves as project manager for Cityworks related projects.  Educates departments on relevant procedures and monitors operations and data to ensure standards are being maintained.  Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in information system management, computer science, GIS or a related field; and three years of progressively responsible related experience; or any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.  Cityworks experience is preferred.  A valid driver’s license is required.  Must complete required NIMS level training within the first six months of hire. 

Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of ArcGIS, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Windows Server and Crystal Reports is preferred.  Skill in communicating clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing; researching, compiling, and summarizing a variety of informational and statistical data and materials; organizing work, setting priorities, meeting critical deadlines, and following up assignments; using a computer to accurately and rapidly enter and retrieve data an information; experience with relational database, SQL Server, data conversion, and report writing.    

Physical Demands:  Frequently required to walk, sit, and kneel, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, talk or hear, and occasionally lift and/or move up to approx.. 50 lbs. and transport approx. 25 feet. 

Typical Working ConditionTypically moderately quiet in a standard office environment.  Conditions may exist where dust, dirt, and noise are experienced.  May occasionally be required to work irregular hours, evenings and weekends as needed to ensure 24-hour operating efficiencies.
