Purpose:  To establish an eligibility list for Missouri Certified and Non-Certified candidates.  Minorities and women are encouraged to apply.

Position Summary: Position coordinates within various divisions of the Police Department relating to the protection of life and property; enforce state/federal law and municipal ordinances; preserve order throughout the community; and respond to community needs. 

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED (college degree or college course work in criminal justice preferred), valid Driver’s License by date of hire, a good driving record, pass a comprehensive written examination, physical agility test, oral interview, polygraph examination, psychological evaluation, undergo an extensive background investigation with the ability to render credible testimony in a court of law, pass a medical examination and drug screen, successfully complete a Field Training Officer program, and serve a 12-month probationary period after appointment. Non-certified candidates are required to pass a state certified police academy for a Class "A", P.O.S.T. certification for 600 hours. Bilingual Skills Preferred.

Salary and Benefits: The City offers a comprehensive benefit package which includes health and dental insurance, retirement program through LAGERS, paid holidays and vacation, in addition to a competitive salary range with an annual increase.

Hourly Salary Rate:  $14.708 (Recruit); $20.18 (P.O.S.T. Certified); $22.46 (4 years of P.O.S.T. experience)

Written Examination and Physical Agility Test:  As part of the application process, you will need to take a written examination and physical agility test (Gym clothes required) on April 5, 2014.  If selected, you will be notified by phone of the time and location of these tests.  A $15.00 testing fee will be collected at the time of the test.
