Graduate student position within the Health Department responsible for researching and analyzing environmental public health activities, as directed. This is a voluntary internship with a stipend paid at the end of the internship. Intern will perform various projects such as reviewing and organizing current standard operating procedures, creation of first draft of new/updated policies/ordinances. Intern will provide 360 hours of service over approximately nine weeks (40 hours per week unless mutually agreed to by both parties).
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university. Must currently be a student in a Master of Public Health program.
Must be skilled in organizing work, setting priorities, meeting deadlines, and following up assignments with a minimum of direction; communicating clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing; researching, compiling, and summarizing a variety of informational and statistical data and materials; and using a computer to accurately and rapidly enter and retrieve data and information.
Physical Demands: While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms.
Typical Working Conditions: Normally in an office environment.
