Sites and Buildings

Whether your business plans require acres of open land, underground storage or Class A office space Independence will meet your needs.

The City of Independence can facilitate various aspects of the site selection process, including coordinating tours, conducting custom research, providing current incentive information and related resources, as well as serving as a liaison with both state and county government agencies and assisting in navigating City departments and requirements. The City of Independence contracts with Independence Economic Development Council to maintain an online inventory of available commercial property within the community. This inventory allows the staff to assist prospective companies or existing Independence firms in finding the real estate they need to relocate or grow their business. The Economic Development division will provide, upon request, a listing of available office, retail, or industrial/ flex space along with associated demographic & trade area information. Staff will connect prospective tenants or owners with local commercial realtors to proceed with formal real estate transactions.

Aside from real estate available in these locations, the Independence Council for Economic Development maintains a database to assist companies interested in expanding or moving into new commercial real estate.  The database is kept up-to-date through a combination of steady contact with local commercial brokers, commercial real estate listings, and other real estate databases.
