2016-17 Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER) Now Available




            The City of Independence has submitted it's Consolidated Annual Performance and. Evaluation Report (CAPER) for Program Year 42 (July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017) to HUD on September 28, 2017. During the previous fiscal year, the City of Independence allocated approximately $935,642 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to 24 projects involving minor home repair, code compliance, public facility improvements, economic development activities, and public services.  In addition, $351,760 in HOME funds were allocated for development of single family affordable housing for homebuyers.  The CAPER, required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), evaluates the use of these funds in furthering planned community development activities as proposed by the City’s 2016-17 Annual Action Plan.   

The 2016-17 CAPER is available for review at:
