Missourians in need can find essential services, such as nearly 240 food pantries, food banks, school meal programs for students, diaper banks, and more through the online Missouri Services Navigator system. The Services Navigator offers instant access to programs and services available in Missouri. There are currently over 2,000 services listed, with new services added daily. Searches can be keyword, location, and/or service. Every program and service contains a map of the location as well as contact information.
The Community Services League (CSL) created this website to provide regional information to citizens in Eastern Jackson County and the surrounding area. The CSL COVID-19 Help Center has information on food, finances, well being and more. You can find it at cslc19.org/help.
A pet food pantry is held the 4th Saturday of the month. Residents in need of pet food must email furfood@yahoo.com to register for the event no later than the Wednesday before the 4th Saturday, so the proper food can be picked up and ready. Pick-ups are then scheduled 9 am- 11 am. Supplies are limited, but residents may also call the shelter directly at 816-325-7207 if an emergency need for food occurs prior to the event.
Those wishing to help other pet-owners in the area are welcome to drop-off unopened, non-expired dog and cat food. Donations may be dropped off at the front or west doors between 7 am and 6 pm, 7-days a week. The Regional Animal Shelter is located at 21001 E 78 Highway, Independence, MO 64057
