CARES Act Spending

The City of Independence received a $6.9 million allocation of CARES Act Funds designated to Jackson County in August 2020. These funds are used for specific COVID-19 related expenditures in Fiscal Years 2020 (July 1, 2019-June 30, 2020) and 2021 (July 1, 2020 – June 30, 2021). To help the public better understand how these funds are being used, City staff created a public dashboard to provide a high level overview of the CARES Act activity.
