Description   Bronze statue by Charles Goslin 2017. The original Pioneer Woman by late Juan Lombardo, Bronze, 6’ tall, dedicated in 1990 but stolen and destroyed in June of 2013. Symbolizing the hope, grit and fortitude of women who were among the hundreds of thousands who headed west in the 1840s, ’50s and ’60s as well as honoring women – pioneers themselves – who have broken gender barriers in more recent times. Private donors commissioned a replacement which differs somewhat from the original. The original Pioneer Woman held a bucket in one hand and cradled a baby in the other. Now both arms hold a small child.
