Trap, Neuter, Release Program

In a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program, community cats are humanely trapped for the purpose of sterilizing them to prevent unwanted litters of kittens in the community.  Community cats are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, eartipped, and then returned to their outdoor home.

We offer TNR services for community cats from Independence and unincorporated Jackson County.  The charge is $20 and includes the following:  spay/neuter, ear tip, tattoo (the universal signs that a community cat has been spayed/neutered), rabies and FVRCP vaccinations, and parasite treatment.

If you are interested in scheduling an appointment please email . Cats will be scheduled to be dropped off and picked up on the same day.  The cats will need to arrive in a humane live trap and the caregiver will need to bring the completed TNR Surgical Consent Form before surgery.  After pick up the caregiver should be prepared to hold the cat indoors overnight and release the following morning to allow for adequate recovery from the anesthesia.
