Surrender a Pet

We accept owner-surrendered animals by appointment only.  This allows us to ensure adequate cage space for your pet, as well as those already in our care.  It is important to us to make sure each animal has adequate space and resources to ensure quality care during their stay and to help them find a new family as quickly as possible.  Please call 816-325-7207 option 2 to speak with an Admissions Counselor about scheduling an appointment.  Once your appointment is scheduled, please print the appropriate form below and bring it with you to the appointment.   Completing the form as detailed and accurately as possible will help us to find the best family to adopt your pet.

Making the decision to rehome your pet can be difficult.  In most cases, it is best to rehome your pet directly to a new home without them having to come into a shelter.  This allows you to play a part in choosing a new family, saves space in the shelter for pets at risk, and ensures your pet won't have to spend time in a stressful shelter environment.  Check out these resources to help you rehome your pet on your own:
