Garden Seeds and Plants Available May 1

(INDEPENDENCE, Mo.) Friday, April 25, 2014 – Get ready to start your summer garden! The Kansas City Community Garden and Independence Health Department are working together to distribute seeds and plants.

Seed and plant distribution will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursdays, May 1 and May 15 at the Health Department, 515 S. Liberty.

Membership is required to participate in this part of the program. Membership is $2 for those who qualify for low or no income. Membership for all others is $12. Bring your membership card with you, or you may join the Kansas City Community Garden at the distribution time.

Members are entitled to receive 10 packets of seeds (your choice), a five-pound bag of fertilizer, a community gardening newsletter, discount on additional seeds and fertilizer and a discount on vegetable plants.
