The Emergency Managers of Eastern Jackson County are hosting Severe Storm Spotter Training at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 6 at the Crown Pointe Church, 5950 NE Lakewood Way, Lee’s Summit, MO. Citizens interested in attending are asked to arrive at 6:45 p.m. for registration.
Training will be presented by Andy Bailey of The National Weather Service-Pleasant Hill, MO. Volunteer organizations representatives will be available with information on the upcoming severe weather season. The presentation will cover how to identify significant weather conditions and events, as well as how to respond and communicate in a safe manner.
The training is specifically designed for those working in fire service, law enforcement, governmental agencies, Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT), amateur radio operators, and the public, focusing on anyone who works or spends the majority of their time outdoors.
