AUTUMN ON THE PRAIRIE – October 11 at 7:00 a.m.
After heading west, your first stop will be the Plumlee Buffalo Ranch near Alma, KS. This family-owned ranch has a large herd of bison and you will learn about these magnificent animals and get to view them in person! You will take a covered tram out into the fields, so bring your camera! This is prime viewing time, so you’ll get to have a peek at the proud mums and their calves. After your tour, head into the quaint town of Dover for lunch at one of Kansas’ hidden dining gems: Somerset Hall Café. You’ll enjoy a soup and sandwich lunch with beverage and slice of homemade pie (included). Their coconut cream pie put the place on the map, and has been featured on a variety of food shows and even Good Morning America! Price $69
NEW THEATRE RESTAURANT “DRIVING MISS DAISY” -- October 25 at 10:30 a.m.
Daisy, a wealthy, acerbic widow, has wrecked another car. Her son decides she needs a chauffeur and hires an unemployed black man named Hoke. Daisy and Hoke dislike each other initially but over the course of 25 years, the two grow to become very dear friends. WW1 MUSEUM & FEDERAL RESERVE – November 8 at 9:00 a.m.
Step back in time at the National WW1 Museum at the Liberty Memorial. Enjoy a self-guided tour where you can move at your own speed, reading and using the interactive exhibits to learn about the Great War. Current exhibits show the tensions throughout the world that led to the war and responses by French children when the Allies came to aid their country. After your tour, enjoy lunch on site at the Over There Café. At our next stop, the Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank’s Money Museum, learn about the economy through our hands-on exhibits for all ages. See if you can tell if a bill is a counterfeit. What does $40 million looked like stacked up? You can see it at the Money Museum. Also, peek at Harry Truman’s coin collection, in a special visiting exhibit. Deadline to pre-register is October 16. Price is $69

Volunteers from The KC Pet Project will be here to read pet stories and to introduce us to some of their special pet guests.
Annual Campfire – October 13 at 2:00 p.m.
George Owens Nature Park Come join the fun roasting marshmallows, singing, and telling jokes under the covered patio.
Halloween Program – October 31 at 10:30 a.m.
We will be hosting the Star Shine Preschool’s trick or treat morning in The Palmer Center dining room. Bring your bags of wrapped candy and let these little ghosts, goblins and super heroes come to your table for a treat.
