About Us

 

The National Frontier Trails Museum (NFTM) is a history museum, interpretive center, and research library dedicated to telling the rich history of America’s principle, pioneering trails, including the Oregon, Santa Fe and California trails. We're located in Independence, Missouri, a key starting point for hundreds of thousands of pioneers who risked their livelihoods for a new life in the American West.

Monday 10:00 am - 6:00 pm
Tuesday 10:00 am - 7:00 pm
Wednesday 10:00 am - 6:00 pm
Thursday 10:00 am - 7:00 pm
Friday 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
Saturday 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
Sunday CLOSED

(Last tour each day is an hour before scheduled closing.)

Tours outside of scheduled hours available by appointment.
