Rules
A. Judging
1. Judges will be selected by a committee, comprised of the Host and
sponsoring Departments.
2. Any scoring disputes shall be made to the Judge immediately after
the run.
B. Eligibility
1. The competition is open to all Law Enforcement Officers who are currently
cer certified on the Police Motorcycle.
a. Exceptions can
be granted by rules committee.
C. Clothing and Conducts must dress appropriately. Boots, helmets and eye protection, and gloves must be worn at all times during practice and competition.
2. Standard Duty uniform must be worn on competition day.
3. All riders shall act in a professional manner. Inappropriate
behavior could result in disqualification from the event.
D. Classes of competition:
1. Harley-Davidson:
a. Class 1, Harley-Davidson Police model motorcycles with
windshield.
b. Class 2, Harley-Davidson Police model motorcycles with fairing.
(Does not include Dyna-Glide.)
c. Class #1 and #2 could be combined due to number of entries.
2. Class 3, Open.
a. Any other motorcycle outfitted for police duty that does not fit
into the above catagories, ie Honda, BMW, Kawasaki
4. Exceptions will be considered on an individual basis.
E. Motorcycles
1. Must be operating properly with no excessive or obvious oil leaks
or mechanical problems, all motorcycles competing are subject to a
mechanical inspection.
2. Modifications for the purpose of competition are not allowed.
3. Repair time is allowed (5 mins.) or motorcycle replacement if
necessary prior to starting the event. If a break-down occurs during
competition, the judge will determine if it was caused by
malfunction or rider skill, possible allowing the rider a re-ride.
Clutch failure does not justify a re-ride.
F. Competition / Scoring
1. The competition is a TIMED EVENT. The lowest time wins.
2. Each officer will be given three (3) runs. The best two will be
averaged for the final time, adding penalty time.
3. Penalty assessment
a. Moving a cone from its location w/o knocking the cone
down = 1 sec
b. Knocking a cone down = 2 sec.
c. Putting a foot down = 4 sec.
d. Stopping in a patte down = 3 sec
b. Knocking a cone down = 5 sec.
c. Putting a foot down = 10 sec.
d. Stopping in a pattern and using your feet to move the p; f. Bike down = Disqualification
&15 Sec.
e. Riding out of a pattern and not re-entering from the start of r is for identification purposes, for judges and photographers.
F. Awards
1. Awards will be given to the top three (3) finishers in each Class.
