Independence "Night Out Against Crime"

The Independence Fire Department will be joining the Independence Police Department with in celebrating the annual National Night Out against crime on Tuesday, August 6th, 2013 from 5pm to 8pm.

This large block party will be hosted by the Police Department on the Square, on the corner of N. Liberty St. and W. Maple Ave.

The Police Department will be providing demonstrations of its various units, and will have available officers and commanders on scene to meet with you.  They will be distributing crime prevention educational materials that address current crime concerns in our city.

The Independence Fire Department personnel will be on hand to demonstrate their Fire Equipment and the Independence Fire Explorers will be staffing a Fire Truck at the site to spray water for those who would like to cool off. 
Don't forget to bring your towels!

The Parks and Recreation Department will be providing children's games and activities.

There will be raffles for various prizes, including tickets to events, as well as giveaways and gift certificates from area businesses.  Drawings will be around 7:30 PM the night of the event, and you must be present to win.  One entry ticket for each participant 12 and over.
