Mayor Weir begins community listening tour

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. – Independence Mayor Eileen Weir will kick off a community listening tour today, February 6, at the independence Rotary Club meeting taking place at the Ennovation Center. The Mayor will be visiting business groups, community organizations, home owners organizations, volunteer groups and more over the coming months to hear from the community and ask them for input on City initiatives.

“We are excited for the future of Independence but to reach the goals we have outlined in Independence for All, our five-year strategic plan, we must all work together,” Mayor Weir said. “I am hopeful these community meetings will allow citizens to ask questions, share ideas, and learn how they can help shape the policies and changes we will need to successfully reach the goals outlined in the strategic plan.”

If your group or organization is interested in participating in the listening tour, please contact Community Liaison Specialist John Mayfield at or (816)325.7394.
