14th Annual Kansas City Storytelling Celebration

(INDEPENDENCE, Mo.) Friday, November 1, 2013 – Independence Parks and Recreation joins part of the storytelling fun for the second year. Bring the family to George Owens Nature Park, 1601 S. Speck Road, on Thursday, November 7 to be entertained by two regional storytellers. This story event is designed for all ages and is free to attend.

10-10:45 a.m. – Storyteller Denise Dodd. Denise has enjoyed telling stories to elementary children for 30 years. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary and Early Child Education and a Master's Degree in Curriculum Instruction.

11-11:45 a.m. – Storyteller Margaret Meyers. Storyteller Margaret Meyers captivates audiences with a lively mix of stories with depth and humor. A former college philosophy teacher, poet, and lifelong learner, she brings her sense of wonder into her storytelling.
