     Independence Parks and Recration Department offers two
            workout faciltiies with physical fitness programs:

The Roger T. Sermon Community Center
201 N. Dodgion Ave. (SE corner of Noland and Truman Rds.)
Membership Fees:
 
$30 per year for Independence residents age 13 - 59
$55 per year for Non-Independence residents age 13 - 59
$20 per year for Independence residents age 60 and over
$35 per year for Non-Independence residents age 60 and over

The Palmer Center
218A N. Pleasant St.
For adults 50+ only.
Membership Fees:

$50 per year for Independence residents age 50+
$65 per year for Non-Independence residents age 50+
Each Palmer Center membership includes a fitness assessment and equipment orientation.
