Hands-Only CPR Training
August 12, 2013
(INDEPENDENCE, Mo.) Monday, August 12, 2013 – The City of Independence Fire Department, the professional firefighters of Independence Local 781 and Centerpoint Medical Center have teamed up to provide free training to save lives through Hands-Only CPR.
Approximately 360,000 cardiac deaths occur outside the hospital each year in the United States, with about three quarters of them occurring in the home. Hands-Only CPR is a simple skill that can help save a life.
CPR can make all the difference in the world to a loved one, friend or coworker with this simple two-step program. Step 1: If you see someone collapse, Call 911. Step 2: If the person is not responding and appears to not be breathing, just press on the center of their chest in a hard, fast rhythm until professional help arrives.
