STONEHENGE EXHIBIT AT UNION STATION – Wednesday, September 18 at 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Price is $72. Deadline to pre-register is August 14
Begin with an included lunch at Harvey’s Restaurant before touring Union Station’s latest exhibit: Stonehenge. After the tour, board the Kansas City streetcar for a ride to the River Market.
NEW THEATRE — THE LAST ROMANCE – Wednesday, September 25 at 10:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Price is $55. Deadline to pre-register is August 28

THERAPY DOG JOSIE -- Wednesday, August 14 at 10:30 a.m.
Josie is one of the newest members of the Independence Police Department, and the first therapy dog to join the team. Come and meet her, learn what her duties are, and how she helps the officers day to day.
STRETCHING YOUR MEDICARE BENEFITS -- Friday, August 16 at 10:45 a.m.
A representative from CLAIM will be here to go over ways that you might be able to take advantage of your Medicare benefits to help stretch you Medicare dollars.
PLANTS FOR BEES -- Friday, August 23 at 10:30 a.m.
Mel Haney from George Owens Nature Park will be here to share about the best plants you can put in your garden to benefit bees. You will have a chance to get your fingers dirty by planting a few of these plants yourself.
WOMEN OF THE 1859 JAIL -- Monday, August 26 at 10:30 a.m.
After 160 years, the 1859 Jail in Independence still has stories to tell. The Women of the 1869 Jail program tells the stories of the women who worked, lived, and were imprisoned in the historic jail. Come learn about these women’s roles in the history of this Independence Square Landmark. This program is presented by the Jackson County Historical Society.
