(INDEPENDENCE, Mo.) Friday, July 25, 2014 – Broccoli, cauliflower, kale and greens are fall crop plants you can purchase to start your fall garden. The Independence Community Garden Association Fall Plant and Seed Distribution event will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Monday, August 11 at the Independence Health Department, 515 S. Liberty.
The Kansas City Community Garden and Independence Health Department are working together to distribute seeds and plants. Membership is required to participate in this part of the program. You may join the Kansas City Community Garden at the distribution time or bring your membership card with you. Membership is $2 for those who qualify for low or no income; membership for all others is $10.
Members are entitled to receive a community gardening newsletter and discounts on seeds and vegetable plants.
