(INDEPENDENCE, Mo.) Wednesday, June 4, 2014 – The Independence Farmers’ Market offers a variety of locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables and is now open for business. The Independence Farmers’ and Craft Market is located just off the Independence Square at the corner of Truman and Main. Stop by between 5 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Wednesdays or Saturdays through the end of October.
The Independence Farmers’ Market will be offering samples of produce, giving you a chance to try out some produce prior to purchasing. Food demos will also take place throughout the season demonstrating easy recipes incorporating produce available for purchase at the Farmer’s Market. The Independence Farmers’ Market accepts SNAP, cash and credit cards. The market also participates in the Beans and Greens Program which allows individuals who utilize SNAP to receive match funding equal to the amount of SNAP dollars spent to purchase additional healthy fruits and veggies for consumption. SNAP participants get double their money for the purchase of fresh and delicious produce found at the Independence Farmers’ Markets. Come by and pick up some healthy produce for you and your family.
