For the upcoming season of Missouri Mavericks hockey and Missouri Comets soccer, Independence residents can again register to win two tickets to a home game! The City will give away a limited number of tickets to regular season home games at the Independence Events Center, starting with the Mavericks home opener Saturday, November 2, followed by the Comets home opener on Saturday, November 16.
To make it more convenient for contest winners this season, all contest tickets will be picked up at the Silverstein Eye Centers Box Office at Independence Events Center, 19100 E. Valley View Parkway. Tickets must be picked up in person by the winner. A valid photo ID and proof of residency, such as a utility bill, is required when picking up tickets.
“In past years some winners were not able to visit City Hall during business hours to pick up their tickets,” said City Manager Robert Heacock. “Having the tickets available at the box office will provide easier access and simplify the process.”
The Silverstein Eye Centers Box Office at Independence Events Center is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. On game days, the box office will open at least two hours prior to game time and will close approximately an hour after the game begins.
Independence residents 18 years and older can register to win tickets at the City’s website: www.independencemo.org. Click on the “Win Tickets” button. Each winner will receive two tickets. Employees and elected officials of the City of Independence and their immediate families are not eligible to participate. A complete list of contest rules is available on the website.
Entrants may select any number of games from the listed schedules and will be included in the drawing for each of those games. Entrants can enter to win tickets until such time as their name is drawn as a winner. Winners will be randomly selected by computer 10 days prior to each game and will be notified by telephone or, if provided, by email.
