George Owens Nature Park has given families the opportunity to reconnect with their natural environment since 1977. The park is open year round and provides 86 acres of beautiful forest, lakes, hiking trails and wildlife. Explore the rustic nature center, find new seasonal exhibits and educational touch tables to learn about the animals that can be seen. Experience the beauty of a 150 gallon turtle enclosure or peer into a 75 gallon fresh water aquarium display. The possibilities for adventure are endless.

Full Moon Hikes

Free program

Enjoy a guided  moon lit hike through the park. Reserve your spot by 5pm the day before each hike by calling (816) 325-7115.  Each hike is limited to 15 participants.  Hikes will cover uneven dirt and mulch trails. Please, no baby strollers or light up shoes.  Binoculars recommended and dress for the weather.
