VIPS Member Honored for Volunteer Hours

VIPS (Volunteers in Police Service) member Brad Keeler was honored yesterday at a staff meeting with a plaque for his 2016 volunteer hours. Brad volunteered 438.5 hours and received the Platinum Award. He is the only VIPS volunteer to receive this award this year.

Brad performed many duties throughout 2016, including working at the Englewood substation, 5-10k runs, numerous traffic control assists (4th of July, Halloween Parade, Enchanted Forest) Police Memorial Ceremony, National Night Out, directed patrols, speed trailer deployment, and other duties.

The VIPS (Volunteers In Police Service) is a volunteer group organized to assist the police department in providing a higher level of service to the community. The VIPS do this by providing services that would otherwise keep officers from responding to higher priority calls for service.
