The Records Unit is located on the first floor of the Police Headquarters building
The Independence Police Records Unit mission is to provide quality customer service to members of our community, our department, and other governmental agencies within an atmosphere of individual integrity and mutual respect. The Records Unit is responsible for the accurate processing, storage, and appropriate dissemination of police reports and criminal justice information per Federal, State and local laws in a timely and courteous manner, and the facilitation of the effective flow of information within the department.
We accept checks and money orders made payable to: City of Independence. If mailing your request, please provide a self addressed & stamped envelope so we can mail your request back. Please send your requests to the Independence Police Department at 223 N Memorial Dr. Independence, MO 64050. If making a request in person, we also accept cash.
If requesting multiple reports, please pay for each one separately.
