Summary of Changes

The City of Independence is proposing changes to your CIGNA health insurance.

Lockton Informational meetings regarding proposed employee health insurance changes will take place on the following dates:

  • Tues 5/21 5:30-7:30 PM, Truman Memorial Building - Presidential Room
  • Wed 5/22 10:00 AM, Police Department Headquarters - Multi-Purpose Room
  • Wed 5/22 12:00 PM, Independence Utilities Center - Room 117

Expand My question concerns “embedded” vs. “not embedded”.  OAP2 has not embedded on the out-of-pocket maximum category.  In the notes on the bottom of the comparison sheet, it says that if the member has family coverage, the entire family deductible or out-of-pocket maximum must be met before the insurance starts to pay.  “Family” is the key word here.
