About CERT

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program educates volunteers about disaster preparedness for the hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. CERT offers a consistent, nationwide approach to volunteer training and organization that professional responders can rely on during disaster situations, which allows them to focus on more complex tasks. Through CERT, the capabilities to prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters is built and enhanced.

CERT Mission Statement

Beginning with ourselves, we will be prepared. We will work as an individual or together as emergency response teams to assist our families and neighbors in time of disaster and to be prepared to make decisions that do the most good for the most people.

About Fire Explorers

Explorers Post 2081 is designed to give young adults, ages 14-20, an opportunity to learn about the fire service while providing a community service. The Post gives youths the opportunity to explore firefighting and emergency medical services, to determine if it is a career they would be interested in pursuing. Members not only get a first-hand look at the fire service, they are also given the opportunity to enjoy organized recreational activities, competitive events and community interaction while working in a professional atmosphere. Exploring gives young people the opportunity to develop interpersonal relationships, leadership, and organizational skills. We believe it is a “A Learning For Life” program.

Fire Explorers Mission Statement

It is the mission of the Fire Explorer Program to facilitate positive influences on our communities’ youth, and the development of future fire fighters and medics by reaching out to all areas of our community.
