Public Hearings

 

Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the Independence Planning Commission at 6 p.m., Tuesday, February 27, 2018, and by the Independence City Council at 6 p.m.,  Monday, April 2, 2018, in the Independence City Hall Council Chambers (lower level, north entrance), 111 E. Maple Avenue, in Independence, Jackson County, Missouri on the following cases:

Case #18-100-04 – Rezoning –Truman Heritage Habitat for Humanity and the Independence School District request to rezone the properties at 1300 and 1304 North High Street from C-2, General Commercial to R-6, Single Family Residential.

Case #18-100-05 – Rezoning –The City of Independence requests to rezone the property at 1509 and 1631 East Salisbury Road from R-6, Single Family Residential and R-30 PUD, High Density Residential PUD to R-6, Single Family Residential.

The Planning Commission will conduct a full public hearing on this application.  The City Council will hear new information that was not presented at the Planning Commission’s public hearing if such facts were not reasonably available at the time of the Planning Commission hearing.  Any new information proposed to be presented to the City Council must be submitted in writing to the Community Development Department and Law Department at least seven (7) days prior to the City Council meeting.    View LIVE meetings here.  The live stream begins approximately 15 minutes prior to each meeting.

 

 

Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the Independence City Planning Commission at 6:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 13, 2018, and by the Independence City Council at 6 p.m., Monday, April 16, 2018, in the Independence City Hall City Council Chambers (lower level, north entrance) 111 East Maple, in Independence, Jackson County, Missouri on the following matter(s):

Case #18-200-02 – Special Use Permit – RWMO, Inc., DBA Rightway Automotive Credit, requests a special use permit for vehicle sales at 3225 and 3237 South Noland Road.

Case #18-100-06 – Rezoning –Architectural Stone Products, LLC request to rezone the property at 20225 East RD Mize Road from R-A, Residential-Agricultural to I-1, Industrial.

Case #18-100-07 – Rezoning – Jay and Lori Howard, DBA Rescue Tow, request to rezone the property at 401 North Kiger Road from R-12, Two-Family Residential to I-1, Industrial.

Case #18-810-01 – PUD Preliminary Development Plan –Jim Pollard requests approval of a PUD Preliminary Development Plan for Tybrook Estates located at 840 North Powell Road and zoned R-12 PUD.

Maple Street in Independence, Missouri, for the following applications:

Case #18-999-06 – Steven and Jacquelyn Putnam– A variance request to the setback requirements for property at 25025 East Truman Road.

Case #18-999-07 – City of Independence– A variance request to the sigh requirements for property at 201 and 211 West Truman Road.
