Proposed Annual Action Plan

Notice is hereby given to interested parties that the City of Independence will submit the proposed 2013 Annual Action Plan, as pertaining to the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME programs under the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, to the Kansas/Missouri Area Office of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) on or about May 15, 2013. Copies of the draft Action Plan are available in the Community Development Department, City Hall, 111 E. Maple between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Comments regarding this document should be submitted in writing to Christina Leakey, 111 E. Maple Independence, Missouri 64050. All comments will be considered in preparing the final Action Plan document.

Funds expected to be received by the City from HUD during the 2013 Plan Year are anticipated to include approximately $667,000 of Community Development Block Grant funding and $290,000 of HOME Investment Partnership Act Funding. Proposed CDBG and HOME activities for the 2013 plan period are listed below.
