Neighborhood Stabilization Program Successes
June 23, 2014

The Neighborhood Stabilization Program was designed to return neglected, foreclosed and abandoned properties to quality homes for income eligible families in areas of the community hardest hit by the mortgage crisis in recent years.  Funding for the acquisition and rehabilitation of 423 N. Pleasant has resulted in the removal of a blighted, empty home in one of Independence's oldest neighborhoods.  The open house on Mother's Day Weekend drew neighbors, local officials and a dedication from Congressman Emanuel Cleaver.
